For over six decades, this program has offered scholarships to graduating high school students in the Louisville-Lafayette communities, to assist them in funding their efforts in pursuing higher education or training.  This past year, we awarded $104,500 to 47 deserving graduates. Help us make this the best year ever in continuing the tradition of supporting our students!

It all began in 1962 when the Lafayette High School PTA collected funds from organizations and individuals to provide seniors with a start toward their college education.  In 1965, Louisville businesses adopted these efforts and began to help Louisville High School seniors also.  The Lafayette and Louisville programs merged in 1972 when Centaurus High School was built.  In 2001, the fund expanded to include Monarch High School. 

Staffed entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers, since 1983 the program has awarded 852 scholarships totaling $924,500.

Objectives of the scholarship fund are:

• Recognize highly motivated high school seniors in their efforts to advance their education.
• Inform the community about the goals and progress of the scholarship program and the students who benefit from it.
• Elicit financial support from individuals, organizations and businesses so that the scholarship program can continue the tradition of supporting local graduates with scholarships to continue education or training.
